Why should I consider speedboat insurance?

There’s nothing better than getting out on your speedboat in the fresh sea air, whether bay-hopping, waterskiing or exploring new waters.

Yet, as with any outdoor hobby, it doesn’t come without the risk of an accident.

Say you lose control of your speedboat and accidentally injure another person on the sea. Or you lend your boat to a family member, and they accidentally run it over rocks, damaging the hull.

Having specialist speedboat insurance in place can protect your craft against the unthinkable, so you have complete peace of mind when you’re cruising the coastal waters of the UK or continental Europe.

Speedboat Insurance FAQs
  • There are several factors that affect the cost of your policy, such as claims history and the class and value of your boat.

You can get an online quote in minutes to learn the cost of your cover.

  • Specialist speedboat insurance isn’t required by law, but it’s a prerequisite for membership with many launching sites and harbour authorities.

You might also want to consider insurance for peace of mind when waterborne or whilst towing your boat so you don’t have to worry about risks such as theft, damage, or third-party claims if you have an accident on your speedboat.

  • Yes—all speedboat insurance policies arranged by Craftinsure include cover for your boat and equipment including outboard motors and trailers.
